A Message from the Chief

Welcome to the City of Kingsland, Georgia Police Department
I hope you enjoy your visit, and I welcome the opportunity to share with you our outstanding law enforcement agency. Our mission at the Police Department is to improve the quality of life in our community by reducing fear, preventing crime and enforcing the law while protecting each individual's freedoms guaranteed by the United States Constitution. Kingsland is located approximately 40 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida at the Georgia/Florida State Line on Interstate 95.

The Department’s motto is "Serving United with the Community".

The City annexed property in 2008, making it the seventh largest city in the state geographically. Currently the Police Department serves a population of over 16,000 people.

On our web site, you will find information about the Department; the most often used agency telephone numbers, recent news releases, and useful links to other sites. Through our web site and web links, you will be able to search for sexual predators and sexual offenders, find information about Department of Corrections inmates and information concerning Georgia State government, and locate other interesting places to visit. Our web site gives me yet another means of staying in touch. I have provided a place for you to send an email to me with your suggestions and comments about the Police Department and these pages.

Sincerely,
Chief Darryl G. Griffis
